Finance Cornwall has this year chosen to donate £700 to two local charities, as well as help the environment, instead of printing and mailing a corporate Christmas card.
Cornwall Hospice Care, which includes St. Julia’s Hospice in Hayle and Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell, and The Pirate Trust, Pirate FM’s charitable arm, have received £350 each from Finance Cornwall, which will send out an email Christmas card instead of the annual posted version.
Cornwall Hospice Care provides palliative care for patients who are suffering from terminal illness, as well as caring for their families, and the Pirate Trust raises thousands of pounds each year for local charities.

Sarah Snell, PR Manager for Cornwall Hospice Care, said: “We would like to thank Finance Cornwall for this wonderful festive gift – it is a great way to support a local charity.”
Robert Seymour, Managing Director of Finance Cornwall Fund Managers, said: “We decided that, instead of covering the cost of printing and sending out a Christmas card this year, it would be a better idea to help good causes in the area. We are also keen to do our bit to help the environment and would encourage other companies to do the same.”

Finance Cornwall is a £20m venture investment fund targeting small and medium sized enterprises in the region with a range of equity, mezzanine and debt capital. Finance Cornwall has invested £8.5 million in over 100 businesses and can lend or invest from £20,000 to £1 million per business. It is part funded by the EU through the Objective One Programme for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
